"For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." (Hebrews 4:12)
Words have always been really important to me. I have been known to remember the exact phrases someone has said to me. I remember those that have hurt me and those that have made me feel proud, for whatever reason I have always been tuned in to words. I know that words are powerful and every time we speak we express that power. Words can be motivating as well as heart breaking. Words can lift you up and let you down. Words are powerful!
The Word of God. Inspired. God breathed. Important. Tested. Proven. Amazing. Authentic. Timeless. The Word of God.
Every time I read the Bible I am reminded how important words are. I am reminded that the creator of mankind wrote these words. I am reminded that He thought of me when He breathed life into this book. Every time I read the Bible I come away cut, and I know God has chosen His words to do just that! While reading this morning God reminded me that He has chosen His words wisely. Each word has a purpose and plan. Each phrase is designed to get to me. Each book will teach me something. Every time I read the Bible I come away asking myself, why don't I do this more often? I see the answers to life are here and I know God has carefully chosen each word for me, why don't I read them more?
God continues to use His sword, the sharpest of all swords to cut me. It is my prayer that I will ever be able to feel the cut of His word in my life. Because I know its with each cut that makes me the man He wants me to be!
