We just finished our first full week on the job and it was a great one! Amanda, Lily, and I have been very blessed to become a part of the family at the College church of Christ in Searcy, and we can see a bright future here for us and our service to God. It is a neat and humbling experience when you allow God to work in your lives and step away from trying to be in control and allow HIM to lead you. We know that this was what happened to bring us here! Our family truly wants to be where God can use us best and we could see that God was preparing us for this move and we have simply set back and enjoyed the ride!
Words cannot express how honored I am to have the opportunity to serve here at this place. I have always dreamed about coming back to Searcy and working in some capacity. But, I really never thought it would be possible. Yet, God had other plans! I have been blessed with the providence of God working in my life and to set back and look at all the people He has used to help bring us here today is truly amazing! The first that comes to mind is Brother Paul Rogers. If it had not have been for this "Giant" of a preacher (spiritually speaking) in small town Centerville, Tennessee I really don't think I would be here today! Paul called Harding University in the spring of 1999 to tell them about me and my football talents. He essentially played the role of my agent! The rest was history! I came to Searcy and loved all my days as a Harding student and was able to learn from some great men and women! I met my wonderful wife (she did her fair share in helping mold me too) and years later we are back working at place that I would have never imagined possible!
Just know that God can do great things through each of you. God can use your talents and abilities to touch lives and shape the future for those who you come into contact with. I know its hard, but if you will let God lead you, you will never be disappointed!
