Ministry or Meetings....

We are 10 minutes away from our weekly staff meeting and I set here wondering...Ministry or Meetings? I will have to make a short disclaimer, since I have been here at the College Church I have had a lot more meetings, but I want you to know that when ministering is happening the meeting is not important nor required!

We live in a world of meetings and it seems that on the scale of importance, the more important you are the more meetings you have. Well let's just say, I am glad I am not that important. Now, I don't mind meetings, but I do want to walk away feeling that we have accomplished something. I am not one who enjoys meetings to set up other meetings. Nor do I like meeting just for the sake of saying we met. I like to come away knowing that goals have been met and I can say that my time spent in the meeting was well worth it!

I would much rather spend my time ministering, yes this is true. Even though I agree that meetings are necessary and sometimes important, I would rather spend my time ministering! It is my opinion that we many times say, "We had a meeting about that," but we (I have been guilty of this too) never actually get out there and put some action behind it. I don't ever want to be known as a person who fails to get the job done or one that would just as soon as have a meeting than actually ministering.

So, if a meeting is called, I will be there. I will expect something to be accomplished and I will be sure that I add what I can to it. But I have warned you..........I would rather be ministering!!!

Just Thinking-

Disclaimer: The thoughts in the entry have NO reflection on anyone. You know what I am saying! I beleive we all have been there and done that :)
