RAIN?!?!?

Today is the first official day of the Fall Season....I think it actually begins at like 5:18pm or some random time like that. Over the past week we have not had a day go by that it has not rained. The rain has kept me from some of my morning walks, it has hindered me from mowing my lawn (which is now to tall for me to use my push mower), and it was one reason among others that kept us from having our Family Retreat. It has rained so much one would think it was April instead of September. This morning I was thinking about how we should be thankful for the rain... #1. I am hoping it will give us some beautiful fall colors this year. It has been a while since we have had a really pretty fall and I am looking forward to it. #2. It has become a stimulus package of sorts for the enumerable number of lawn care providers in Wilson County. Seriously, I think I see a new truck everyday. #3. It has made me realize that I can make it without being an exercise fanatic. I have had to go through some days of not being able to exercise, because I do all of it outside. I know, there are places called "gyms", but I am too cheap and plus they are intimidating to me. So, over the past week and a half, I have come to be ok with the rain.

I also thought about this....You know God never gives up on us! Just a few weeks ago I looked out over my yard and saw a couple of spots that were dead and dusty, I thought well maybe next year, maybe next spring they will have a chance to fill in and grow. Then came the rain! Now those areas in my yard look like a section out of a Brazilian rain forrest. How come I have a hard time getting it through my "thick skull" (as my Dad would say) that we are not on God's time. The Almighty is in control and when it is time, he will decide. Also, I thought of this....God is always giving us opportunities to grow. He is always presenting us with opportunities and blessings that if we will take advantage of, we will grow. One more....just as the season of fall has come it reminded me that God allows us 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances. He never gives up on us. We are blessed to have 4 seasons, if you don't like one there is another one coming, God blesses us with opportunities to make up for those lost moments in life. The ones we wish we could get back!!!

I am slowly learning that God has the best plan....I just need to hook on to him and allow him to make my itinerary!!

  1. I like it when I see that God gives more chances than we deserve. I sure wouldn't want to be treated like I deserve. God Bless,
